Travel-social only works if everyone on the platform is who they say they are. We've built Rendevuu from the ground up around three pillars: real people, real locations, and real consequences for bad actors.

Real people

Phone verification on every account. We use Twilio Verify to send a one-time code to your phone before your account is created. No throwaway emails. No SSO bypass.
Human-reviewed photos. Every profile photo is reviewed by a moderator before it goes live. Photos that look fake, AI-generated, or pulled from elsewhere on the web are rejected.
Profile completeness gates. You can't see other guests until you've uploaded at least 2 photos and completed verification.

Real locations

Geofenced check-ins. When you check in to a hotel, the app confirms you're physically nearby. You can't fake being at the Bellagio from a couch in Ohio.
Stay-bounded matches. You only appear in another guest's feed during the dates you're actually at the hotel. After your check-out date, your profile is invisible to other guests at that property.
No precise location sharing. Other users see that you're at the hotel, not your room number, not your live GPS coordinates.

Real consequences

In-app reporting on every profile. One tap to report harassment, fake profiles, inappropriate photos, or any other violation.
Daily review queue. Reports are reviewed by humans, not just classifiers. Action is taken within 24 hours for most reports.
Phone-number-level bans. When we ban a user, the underlying phone number is blocked — they can't just make a new email and come back.
Audit logs. Every moderation action is logged with the moderator's ID, the action taken, and the reason. We can answer the question "what happened to my report?" with a timestamp.

Best practices for you

Meet in public, well-lit hotel spaces — the lobby bar, the restaurant, the pool deck.
Tell a friend back home where you're going and who you're meeting.
Trust your gut. If something feels off, leave. Report after.
Never send money, photos, or personal info to someone you've just matched with.
